Two space professionals, an astrophysicist and one Avionics Systems Engineer visit Algueirão School District.
Catarina Lobo is an Astrophysicist. She is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and a researcher at the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (IA). Her area of research is the Evolution of Galaxies.
Renato Costa Amorim is an Avionics Systems Engineer at EVOLEO Technologies in Munich, Germany. After graduating in Aerospace Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, he completed his Master's Degree in Space Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Delft, in the Netherlands. In 2018 he worked at the German special agency (DLR). He currently coordinates multidisciplinary teams in the design, development, production and testing of electronic systems for small satellites, in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) and Airbus Defense & Space.
